INTRODUCTION
A colleague asked me to be her wedding videographer, which was a fantastic opportunity. The goal was to create two videos: one covering the entire ceremony with interviews, and another summarizing the whole day. This project was my first experience in wedding videography and came with many new challenges. I also collaborated with the photographer, who provided valuable advice and guidance. Additionally, I had to prepare a quote and estimate the price for the project, which was tricky as it was my very first wedding.
CONSTRAINTS AND CHALLENGES
My first challenges included estimating the price, organizing all the necessary equipment and making sure I didn’t forget anything, and familiarizing myself with how weddings usually unfold by watching example videos. I felt very stressed before the wedding, knowing how important this day was for the couple and wanting to capture everything perfectly. During the ceremony, some moments were difficult to film as they happened very quickly, and I also faced technical problems along the way.
WHAT THIS EXPERIENCE TAUGHT ME
This project pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me gain confidence filming people and capturing significant moments. It also allowed me to collaborate with others to ensure the day ran smoothly. Meeting new people and taking responsibility for such an important event was an invaluable experience. I am very proud of the final result and grateful to the newlyweds for letting me be part of their special day.
To respect the privacy of the couple, and at their request, I removed their spoken words from the voice-over.
